By Press Release

COURT HOUSE – On Aug. 9, 2011 the Board of Chosen Freeholders approved Resolution 595-11 authorizing shared service agreements with twelve municipalities and the Cape May County Library Commission for the storage of electronic records.
Eleven municipalities have electronic data storage agreements.
“Cape May County and the following ten municipalities have approved a joint service project for the secondary storage of vital records in electronic format,” said Cape May County Clerk Rita Marie Fulginiti.
These ten municipalities join the Township of Upper, whose Electronic Data Storage Agreement has been in place since 2008 (385-08), to number eleven municipalities, along with Cape May County government, who regularly backup their vital data at the Cape May County Records Recovery Center.

The Records Recovery Center located in Dennis Township was established in 2007 by Cape May County in part with grant funding from the Public Archives and Records Infrastructure Support Program. The electronic records being backed up and stored at the Records Recovery Center represents a significant and critical component of the overall disaster preparedness of Cape May County.
Located on high ground and over 20 miles from the seat of county government, the center performs automatic backup of vital electronic records and will provide a hot site for re-establishment of government operations in the wake of a disaster.
This project is managed by Cape May County Clerk Rita Marie Fulginiti, Sheppard Taylor, Director and R. Jeffrey Thomson, Assistant Director Cape May County Department of Management Information Services.
