Easter Bunny Visits Cape May County Zoo

COURT HOUSE- The Easter bunny came to Cape May County early this year with a special visit to the County Zoo. Kids of all ages were treated to an Easter egg hunt followed by a photo session with the Easter bunny.
German settlers who arrived in the Pennsylvania Dutch country during the 1700s introduced the Easter bunny to American folklore. The bunny as an Easter symbol seems to have its origins in Germany, where it was first mentioned in German writings in the 1500s. The first edible Easter bunnies were made in Germany during the early 1800s. These were made of pastry and sugar.
