CREST HAVEN – Cape May County Bridge Commission is in the process of installing E-Z Pass on its five Ocean Drive bridges, The Press of Atlantic City reports.
Board of Chosen Freeholders approved a resolution Feb. 14 authorizing $500,000 for the county to purchase E-Z Pass equipment and related services. The commission planned to have the new toll collection system installed prior to the start of the 2017 summer season, but the project was delayed.
According to Chairman Patrick Rosenello, E-Z Pass on the Ocean City-Longport Bridge should be installed within the next 60 days. Installation on the remaining four bridges should be completed by mid-spring.
They are Middle Thorofare Bridge, linking Cape May and Wildwood Crest, Grassy Sound Bridge, connecting North Wildwood and Stone Harbor, Townsend’s Inlet Bridge, which runs between Avalon and Sea Isle City, and Corson’s Inlet Bridge, between Strathmere and Ocean City.
