It reported that Sen. Jeff Van Drew (D-1st) “put into play the name of his old foe (Donohue)” for that post.
Donohue, a Dennis Township resident, went before the same committee as did his Democratic peer, Pickering, also a Dennis Township resident.
The Senate Judiciary Committee approved Pickering “without significant debate,” the website reported.
One of Donohue’s first actions in his new role will be to administer oaths Jan. 6 at 5 p.m. to County Clerk Rita Fulginiti and Freeholder Leonard Desiderio during the reorganization of Board of Chosen Freeholders. That meeting will take place in the Freeholder Meeting Room, County Administration Building, 4 Moore Road, Crest Haven.
