Donohue, Pickering Win Nod as Judges

By Other News Source

TRENTON – According to the website PolitickerNJ.com, the Senate Judiciary Committee acted Dec. 17  to approve Michael Donohue, Cape May County Republican chairman, and James Pickering Jr., Cape May County Democratic chairman, for Superior Court judgeships.
It reported that Sen. Jeff Van Drew (D-1st) “put into play the name of his old foe (Donohue)” for that post.
Donohue, a Dennis Township resident, went before the same committee as did his Democratic peer, Pickering, also a Dennis Township resident.
The Senate Judiciary Committee approved Pickering “without significant debate,” the website reported.
One of Donohue’s first actions in his new role will be to administer oaths Jan. 6 at 5 p.m. to County Clerk Rita Fulginiti and Freeholder Leonard Desiderio during the reorganization of Board of Chosen Freeholders. That meeting will take place in the Freeholder Meeting Room, County Administration Building, 4 Moore Road, Crest Haven.
