Deputy Mayor Meier Sworn

Shaine Meier

By Vince Conti

CAPE MAY – Cape May Council member Shaine Meier was sworn Jan. 2 for a second one-year term as deputy mayor. Meier was first appointed to the position after the change in administrations following the 2015 elections which brought retired police lieutenant Clarence Lear to the Mayor’s Office.
In a move to counter the extreme cold weather, the city also announced that Convention Hall would be open from 10 a.m. until noon every Tuesday for indoor walks around the skating rink. The program began Jan. 9 and continues until March 27. The atrium will also be available for those who wish to enjoy the beach views.
