Dennis to Seek DOT Grant

DENNISVILLE – Dennis Township Municipal Engineer Jack Gibson put forward a proposal to Dennis Township Committee Sept. 11 to apply for state Department of Transportation funding, under its municipal aid grant program. The funds would be used to restripe some municipal roads, and improve street signage.
“Since Dennis does not have street lighting, having oversized signs for street names would help improve both visibility and safety. Upper Township has similar signs that are really helpful,” Gibson said. He said he would also look into whether this particular grant application could include root eradication which has become a problem for many of the township’s 300 drainage pipes, many of which are clogged and need to be cleaned.
