DENNISVILLE – At Dennis Township Committee’s meeting Aug. 13, Business Administrator Jessica Bishop informed the governing body that the oak tree outside the Dennis Township Old School House Museum & History Center, estimated to be at least 250-years-old, will receive treatment to preserve it.
“About 25-33% of its limbs need to be pruned and some of those limbs hang over Petersburg Road. Since that road is a county road, the county will undertake that pruning. We have a quote for $790 to improve the soil around the tree and fertilize it as appropriate,” Bishop said.
Committee gave the green light to proceed.
