Dennis Mayor To Retire Dec. 31

By

DENNISVILLE – “After serving as your mayor and committeeman on Dennis Township Committee for 14 years, it is bittersweet to announce that I will be retiring when my term ends. I have very much enjoyed my service to our community,” stated Mayor John Murphy in a release.
“I’m proud of the policies, programs and measures the committee has put forward during my years of service. We’ve worked with our neighbor, Upper Township, to create innovative shared service policies that save us tax dollars.
“We have maintained programs such as recreational and senior citizen services. Perhaps most importantly, we have held the line on property taxes while also increasing our surplus. I will be introducing another budget with no tax increases again this week.
“Dennis Township is a special place and it has been a great honor to serve as Mayor, just as my dad did years ago. I will always treasure my time here. Thank you, residents of Dennis Township, for allowing me the privilege of serving you,” stated Murphy.
His term ends Dec. 31 of this year.
