DENNISVILLE – At their April 28 meeting, Dennis Township Committee members approved a resolution for alleviating the financial burden related to COVID-19 shutdowns by extending the grace period for the payment of second-quarter property taxes to June 1.
The approval happened hours after the state issued permission to municipalities to suspend statutory provisions relating to property tax grace periods.
Mayor Zeth Matalucci said, “We have been working diligently alongside other municipalities in Cape May County to determine a way to provide relief to the taxpayers during this unprecedented state of emergency because of the pandemic, and so we are really pleased to offer this extension.”
