Dennis Educator Honored as County’s 2014-15 Teacher of the Year

By Al Campbell

CREST HAVEN — Cynthia Leatherwood, an eighth grade teacher in Dennis Township, was honored by freeholders May 27 as Cape May County 2014-15 Teacher of the Year.
In a brief statement before being presented with a resolution attesting to her honor, Leatherwood told the board of her love of teaching, even after many years.
A teacher is selected annually by the county superintendent who also submits the honoree’s name to the N.J. Department of Education for reconsideration as state-level Teacher of the Year.
