Dennis Announces Court Move to Middle Starting Feb. 1

By Herald Staff

DENNISVILLE — Dennis Township Mayor John Murphy and committee announced Wednesday, Jan. 28 that the Township’s Municipal Court will be moving to Middle Township effective Feb. 1.
According to a release, this move is part of an Inter-local agreement between Middle Township and Dennis Township.
“In our current economic climate small communities such as Dennis Township must be both prudent and frugal with taxpayer money,” stated Committeeman Al DiCicco. “A shared service agreement for the Municipal Court with Middle Township allows us to do both without affecting the level of service. It may also lead to additional shared services with Middle Township.”
Deputy Mayor Crippen and Committeeman DiCicco facilitated discussions with Middle Township.
The Dennis Committee indicated that sharing the Municipal Court was a logical step given economic realities. It is believed that considerable savings will be realized in the long run.
The new home for Dennis Township Municipal Court will be at 2 South Boyd Street in Cape May Court House. Hours of operation will be 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday excluding holidays. The telephone number will be (609) 861-9707.
For additional information please contact Committeeman Al DiCicco at (609) 861-9700 or the Township Clerk’s Office at 861-9700.
