CREST HAVEN – Freeholders voted to support a Middle Township grant application to create a neighborhood park at Norbury’s Landing on Delaware Bay in Del Haven.
The application will be made to the state Department of Community Affairs, Small Cities Program.
The county became involved since a portion of the park is located in the county right of way on Millman Boulevard.
In other action the board:
* Approved a change order for $42,834 to the Ambient Group LLC of Sewell for removal of additional asphalt from the former Everlon Building at the Cape May County Airport.
* Granted Cape May approval to close a portion of Beach Avenue (CR604) for the municipality’s Patriot Day ceremony Sept. 11.
* Approved a $418,161 contract with T&M Associates of Middletown for engineering services for Church Road and parts of Butter Road and Stagecoach Road in Upper Township.
* Awarded a $44,579 contract to Site One Landscape Supply LLC of Rosell, Ga. for vegetation to be used for landscape restoration of pond banks at the Cape May County Park in Swainton.
* Appointed Lorenzo McFadden and Joe Sittineri to the county Human Services Advisory Council as providers. Their terms will be from Sept. 1, 2018 until Aug. 31, 2021.
* Approved an agreement with N.J. Department of Human Services and the Coalition Against Rape and Abuse Inc. for $23 per person per night for women and children residing in CARA’s residential facility for a 90-day maximum. Those persons are victims of domestic violence and abuse.
* Objected to the NJ Transit’s shutdown of the Atlantic City Rail Line for four months starting Sept. 4. The reason for the closure is to install positive train control.
