Culture and Heritage Commission Seeks Regrant Applicants

COURT HOUSE — Arts and History regrant applications for 2014 are now available to non-profit Cape May County groups and organizations. The Regrant program is made possible through grants from the Department of State, Council of the Arts and Historic Commission. The Regrant program is administered by the Division of Culture and Heritage, under the direction of Freeholder E. Marie Hayes and the Board of Chosen Freeholders and supported by the Culture and Heritage Commission.
All applicants are required to submit a “Letter of Intent to Apply” by Sept. 20, 2013. (There are separate forms for Arts and History regrants, organizations may only apply for one of the two). Applications for 2014 regrants are due in the Division of Culture and Heritage office, 4 Moore Road, Cape May Court House on Oct. 16, 2013 by 4 p.m. .
Eligible applicants must be incorporated in New Jersey as a nonprofit organization that is at least two years old and approved by the IRS as a 501c (3) group.
The following items must be submitted with the application:
• Financial data for two years
• Projected 2014 budget
• Names of Board of Trustees
• Long Range Plan
• Board-approved Americans with Disabilities Act Policy
If you are applying for an art regrant: General Operating Support (GOS) and Project Support (PS) regrants are available. GOS regrants are for applicants whose primary mission is the Arts. Groups whose primary mission is not the arts may apply for a PS regrant to help fund an arts project. Both grants are 50/50 matching grants with at least one-half matched in cash.
If you are applying for a history regrant: You will need to have a history related project or program.
The regrant applications will be available on paper, via e-mail or can be downloaded from our website at www.cmcculture.org. However, completed applications must be typed and submitted on paper.
Cape May County Culture and Heritage is a Division of the Department of Tourism, under the direction of Diane Wieland. Freeholder liaison, E. Marie Hayes oversees the both the Division of Culture and Heritage and the Cape May County Department of Tourism.
The Culture and Heritage Commission is a volunteer advisory group. Commission members include Mary Stewart, Chair; Anne Salvatore, Vice-Chair; Christine Cote, Secretary; Barbara Beitel; Dr. Janice Lake Betts; Lorraine Hansen; Debbie McAlarnen; and Deanna Fiocca.
The mission of the Cape May County Division of Culture and Heritage is to promote public interest and participation in both local and county history, as well as in the arts and in the cultural traditions of the community. It also supports the development of Cape May County’s arts, history and cultural organizations.
The Division is located in the County Administration Building at 4 Moore Road, Cape May Court House. The office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
