COURT HOUSE — All local elementary, middle-school, high school and post-secondary arts & history teachers are invited to Tea for Teachers. Come enjoy complimentary tea, light sandwiches and baked goods at this informal event on Oct. 9, 2013 at 4 p.m. at the Beesley House.
The Division seeks to open a dialogue to learn about your needs, provide resources & contacts for curriculum development & support and increase student involvement in local arts & history programs & events outside of the classroom. The Beesley House is located at 605 Route 9 North, Cape May Court House (next to the Cape May County Park and Zoo).
Cape May County Culture and Heritage is a Division of the Department of Tourism, under the direction of Diane Wieland. Freeholder liaison, E. Marie Hayes oversees both the Division of Culture and Heritage and the Cape May County Department of Tourism. The Culture and Heritage Commission is a volunteer advisory group. Commission members include Mary Stewart, Chair; Anne Salvatore, Vice-Chair; Christine Cote, Secretary; Barbara Beitel; Dr. Janice Lake Betts; Lorraine Hansen; Debbie McAlarnen; and Deanna Fiocca.
The mission of the Cape May County Division of Culture and Heritage is to promote public interest and participation in both local and county history, as well as, in the arts and in the cultural traditions of the community. It also supports the development of Cape May County’s arts, history and cultural organizations.
