WILDWOOD CREST – The Wildwood Crest Board of Commissioners voted Jan. 25 to reject the lone bid received for the renovation of the Wildwood Crest Beach Patrol headquarters on Rambler Road and the beach because the bid exceeded the engineer’s estimate of the cost.
The commissioners rejected the bid by Straga Brothers, of Glassboro, for $1.947 million. Straga Brothers was the only bidder out of a list of nine qualified bidders identified by the borough.
In a separate resolution, the commissioners authorized the readvertising of bids, which will be opened at Borough Hall March 1 at 10:30 a.m.
The commissioners also authorized the advertising of bids for a vendor to lease and operate a café at the Crest Arts Pavilion. The bids will also be opened March 1 at 10:30 a.m.
The commissioners also authorized the auction on GovDeals.com of an abandoned 1999 Suzuki motorcycle. The motorcycle has accrued $10,378.68 in towing and storage charges.
