By Rachel Rogish

WILDWOOD CREST – Next year (2020) will bring changes to the Wildwood Crest Police Department, as Chief Joseph McGrath retires.
McGrath took charge of the department in 2014, as a lieutenant, after Capt. David Myer resigned. McGrath led the department during a time of transition after former Chief Thomas DePaul retired in 2013.
McGrath rose to the rank of chief in 2016. He has served for a total of 25 years in the department. According to McGrath, his retirement is due to personal reasons and wanting to spend more time with his family.
