WILDWOOD CREST ─ “This is a big deal,” Commissioner Joyce Gould said Sept. 5. That was when borough commissioners presented an amendment to its Land Use Ordinance. At the recommendation of the Planning Board, builders in the Crest will follow a stricter code in home and commercial construction. In order to avoid “square box” construction, contractors must follow the amended guidelines. Outdoor spaces, such as porches and decks, are included in the total square footage. Commissioner David Thompson said residents will see “a different design” in the borough. Commissioners urged contractors to call with questions.
