WILDWOOD CREST – The Borough of Wildwood Crest has approved an ordinance that defines the parameters of the Disabled Veterans Property Tax Refund program. The ordinance limits the refund to those who served in the armed services and who have been designated 100 percent disabled by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. The ordinance allows for a retroactive formal request to be filed by the veteran, spouse, or domestic partner to the borough tax assessor for a refund of their real estate taxes for the year immediately before the date of application. The borough must limit the program to one year because of the adverse financial impact an extended program would create.
