Crest Board of Education Sets Special Meeting on Budget

WILDWOOD CREST — A special meeting of the Wildwood Crest Board of Education will take place on Tuesday, April 13.
The board’s special session will begin immediately at 5:30 p.m.
The board will meet in the Media Center of the Crest Memorial School.
Formal action on business before the board may be taken at the meeting.
To the extent known, the agenda for this meeting will include: Visitor Comment, Discussion of Revised Proposed Budget for 2010-2011, Closed Session (If Needed), Visitor Comment, Any Other Matters In Need of Immediate Attention, Adjournment.
On April 6, the board announced it had reduced its budget by $600,000. As a result, staff layoffs are possible, classroom consolidations may take place, and activities will be adjusted.
The school district tax rate would increase by 1.03 cents over the 2009 rate of .255 cents per $100 of assessed value if voters approve on April 20.
