WILDWOOD CREST – According to Mayor Carl Groon, the reconstruction of Pacific Avenue will begin sometime in June before the “heat of the summer season.” A special commissioners’ meeting took place March 13 in borough hall to announce and discuss the decision.
In a phone interview following the meeting, Groon told the Herald that the contract for repairing Pacific Avenue was awarded to Landberg Construction; according to information available as of March 15, the bid given by Landberg totals $1,279,912.75.
Groon said the timeline for the project will avoid weekends and workers will “clean it (the site) up” to ensure safety and cleanliness for residents and guests alike. Along with asphalt, sewer lines and outfall pipes will be “updated,” according to Groon. A second coat of asphalt will be poured in October.
