COURT HOUSE — The Middle Township Police Department received a call from a concerned citizen on April 25 reporting an individual was at Raff Recycling Corporation scraping metal signs that appeared to be directional signs for several businesses located in Lower Township.
Police responded to Raff Recycling Corporation and was able to determine the signs were tourist oriented directional signs that were posted on Rt. 47 in the Rio Grande section of Middle Township, which were valued at $3,225.
Prior to the police arriving at Raff Recycling Corporation, the signs had been destroyed.
An investigation was conducted and it was learned Kendall Aguirre III, 28, of Court House, was in possession of the signs and scrapped them at Raff’s Recycling Corporation receiving $169 in return.
Aguirre admitted to police that he scrapped the signs, but denied taking them from the roadway. He was charged with receiving stolen property and was released on a summons.
