The individuals who died were an 88-year-old woman, from Upper Township, a 71-year-old woman, from Lower Township, and a 55-year-old man, from Dennis Township. All three cases were community-based.

In the week since June 8, the number of new cases climbed by only 18, but the fatalities increased by 10. Of the COVID-19 deaths in that week, seven were community-based, with deaths at long-term care facilities slowing.
Today’s reported fatalities in the county came as the state announced 40 deaths and 305 new cases via a tweet by Gov. Phil Murphy. State totals are now 168,881 cases and 12,625 fatalities.
Tomorrow, June 15, marks the start of Murphy’s Stage 2 recovery plan, with permitted outdoor dining and in-store retail. The easing of retail restrictions is limited to 50% of a store’s capacity. Both retail and dining are subject to social distancing and other health regulations.
Stage 2 will allow personal care businesses to open with restrictions June 22, along with in-person summer school. Youth day camps will also be allowed to operate, as will non-contact, outdoor organized sports.
