County Park Zoo Ready to Mark 30th Anniversary Aug. 20

SWAINTON – Cape May County Zoo will continue its extended summer hours on Wednesday evenings during August.
Also, the Zoo, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, will partner with Comcast on , Aug. 20 to host a night of family fun that includes a free, special screening of the animated film “Over the Hedge,” stated Freeholder Director Daniel Beyel.
There will be something for everyone starting with live entertainment outside the entrance to the zoo from 3 to 6 p.m. Comcast will take the stage at 6:30 p.m. providing free popcorn and ice cream with the first 50 families receiving a free Comcast fleece blanket. Guests will also be treated to a live magician performance and a DJ followed by the movie premier at dusk.
Director Beyel said, “The Cape May County Zoo has been providing our residents and visitors with free family fun and building lasting memories for thirty years. There is so much to see at our zoo that covers 85 acres and is home to more than 500 animals. The Park and Zoo are wonderful backdrops for Comcast’s “Outdoor Movie Tour” and we thank them for bringing this special evening to our county and for their commitment to the community.”

“Over the Hedge” (rated G) is a coming of age story about a scheming raccoon and his mismatched forest friends invading a new suburban sprawl. Celebrity character voices include Bruce Willis, Steve Carell, William Shatner, Wanda Sykes and many more.
