COURT HOUSE – Cape May County Freeholders and Administrative staff were recognized by the Morvay-Miley American Legion Post 524 of Ocean City at the Freeholders’ meeting Jan. 28, 2014.
Steve Cole, Post 524 Trustee and Chairman of the Veterans Rest & Relaxation Committee presented four certificates to county freeholders and staff in recognition and appreciation for the outstanding service and assistance given by Cape May County Officials to Morvay-Miley American Legion Post 524 of Ocean City.
Three individual certificates were given to Director of Operations Mike Laffey, Freeholder E. Marie Hayes and Freeholder Director Gerald M. Thornton for aiding the American Legion in its Vets R&R Program and for providing Cape May County Zoo tour passes for returning vets and their families.
A fourth certificate was given to the entire Board for its efforts in the American Legion’s Forgotten Heroes Ceremony and Burial at the County Veterans Cemetery in 2013. This program assisted families of forgotten veterans to have their remains properly buried with military honors in the Cape May County Veterans’ Cemetery.
