CREST HAVEN – “Earth is for everyone” is the county’s slogan for Earth Day 2015. Honoring winners of the logo contest that incorporated those words proved difficult for freeholders April 14, since second place winner Sarina Wen, a Middle Township High School student, was the only winner present.
First place winner Amina Carter of Cape May Technical High School had to work. Because of that, Suzanne Sykes, commercial art and advertising design teacher accepted on Carter’s behalf.
Third place winner Ella Mogavero of Maud Abrams School was absent.
The contest, open to county students, received 300 entries, said Ed Runyan, parks director. Those entries were funneled to a final six entries from which the top designs were chosen.
