County Continues On-Line Auction of Confiscated Property

CREST HAVEN — Freeholder Director Daniel Beyel announced that additional auctions have been set to sell confiscated items from the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office through on-line auctions. The fourth auction of the summer featuring “Back to School” items will start on Saturday, September 4th and end on Tuesday, September 14th.
There will be more than 280 groups of items including computers, printers, lamps, fans, rugs, microwaves and toaster ovens. Additionally, Dyson vacuum cleaners, tools and other household items will be auctioned off. The items, confiscated from one of the largest stolen property schemes in Cape May County history, are available on GovDeals which is accessible through the county’s website capemaycountygov.net.
Freeholder Director Daniel Beyel said, “We are very pleased with the number of bids received and the revenue that has been generated for the county through the on-line auctions this summer.” To-date the County has received approximately $35,000 from sales of these confiscated items.
Surplus property can be viewed by going to capemaycountygov.net and clicking online auction or at www.govdeals.com. Also, in order to bid, you must pre-register with GovDeals. Bidders can register to participate in this auction free of charge by going to capemaycountygov.net and clicking online auction or at www.govdeals.com.
Purchasing Agent Kim Allen said, “All sales are final; “As Is” and “Where Is”. Surplus property must be picked up as specified on designated dates and times at a Cape May County location. PayPal is the method for payment to GovDeals. No cash or checks are permitted. View the special terms and conditions available on the website specific to Cape May County confiscated property. There will be no inspection of any of the surplus confiscated property. However, pictures are available on the website of the confiscated property.”
