County Clerk Provides Information on Nov. 2 General Election

COURT HOUSE – Cape May County Clerk Rita Marie Fulginiti has announced that sample ballots for the Nov. 2 General Election will be mailed to all active voters in the county to be received by Fri., Oct. 29 or before.
Each sample ballot contains the offices, candidates and public questions to be voted on at the General Election as well as important voter information including the location of the polls.
Voters have the option to request a Mail-In Ballot. Completed applications for Mail-In Ballots must be received (not postmarked) in the County Clerk’s Office by Tue., Oct. 26 for processing those ballots by mail.
From Oct. 27 to Nov. 1 at 3 p.m. voters may apply in person at the County Clerk’s Office for a Mail-In Ballot or authorize a messenger to apply in person with the voter’s completed application at the County Clerk’s Office. A messenger must have photo identification and may not be a candidate in this election.
The Cape May County Clerk’s Office has been processing and mailing Mail-In Ballots for the General Election since Sept. 16.
All eligible voters with approved applications for Mail-In Ballots have been mailed ballots.
Voters may apply for a Mail-In Ballot for one election or select an option to receive ballots automatically for all elections in a calendar year (voters must apply each year for this option) or to receive ballots automatically for all general elections.
Voters continue to receive a ballot for each November General Election until their registration becomes inactive or they notify the County Clerk of a change.
Voters with questions on their registration status or polling location may obtain this information from the New Jersey Division of Elections website at http://www.njelections.org/ or by calling the Board of Elections at 465-1050.
For a Mail-In Ballot forms and instructions go the Cape May County website at http://www.capemaycountygov.net select County Clerk and Elections-Dates-Results-Vote By Mail-Candidates or by calling the County Clerk’s Office at 465-1013.
The County Clerk’s Office is open on Sat., Oct. 30 for Mail-In Ballot Applicants and Authorized Messengers for the General Election.
The special hours will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The County Clerk’s Office is located on Route 9 at 7 N. Main Street, Court House.
