CREST HAVEN – For medical transport services for Crest Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, freeholders approved a resolution March 24 with Belleplain Emergency Corps and GEM Ambulance LLC for one year with two one-year options starting April 11.
Both were evaluated after bids were received March 11. Both were deemed qualified to provide services for the facility based on experience, references quality of proposal and costs, according to the resolution.
In other action the board:
Reappointed members to the Advisory Commission on the Status of Women for three years, ending Jan. 24, 2018. Members are: Nicole Lindsay, Linda Thornton, Elizabeth O’Brien and Patricia Taylor.
Reappointed Carol Brand as a member of the Bridge Commission for a term of three years expiring May 1, 2018.
Awarded contract in amount of $1.12 million to MSA Integration Systems, Inc. for physical security upgrades to various county facilities.
Amended the 2015 budget in amount of $200,000 for funding to support development of a plan of action to reestablish a healthy sustainable dune along Delaware Bay. Funds would come from the Coastal Community Hazards Project from the state.
Awarded to Stantec Consulting Services, Inc. for professional engineering services and project management on an as-needed basis for various county projects. County Engineer Dale Foster told freeholders that firms which sought the contract were asked if they had experience dealing with the Federal Highway Administration. “Two said no, one never worked with them and another was conflicted out on several projects. We may add another firm at a later date.”
Authorized a $4,911 change order for Wildwood Crest branch library with Buell Kratzer Powell architects of Philadelphia for roof replacement and miscellaneous upgrades on the project. “There was an increase in reimbursable fees for bid drawings, FedEx deliveries and framed color photo reproductions,” according to the resolution.
Awarded competitive contracts to supply fresh and frozen produce for one year effective April 1, 2015 to various county departments to: Seashore Fruit and Produce of Atlantic City, Tony’s Produce of Villas, Seashore Food Distributors of Rio Grande and Sysco Philadelphia LLC of South Seaville.
Awarded to Merial Inc., of Duluth, Ga. the contract to supply rabies bait at $1.46 per bait for county Health Department. The bait is dropped by air or placed by hand in wooded areas to reduce incidence of rabies in wild animals. ( See related story.)
