By Press Release

COURT HOUSE – A portion of Stagecoach Road (County Road No. 667) between Evergreen Drive and Action Supply in Upper Township is scheduled to be resurfaced Aug. 26 and 27.  Though one lane of traffic will be maintained, motorists are encouraged to use US Route 9 to avoid delays.  The contractor, South State, Inc. of Bridgeton, NJ will be working from 6 a.m.road  to 5 p.m.  Both travel lanes will be open to traffic during the overnight hours.
The resurfacing improvements consists of milling the existing asphalt pavement approximately 5-inches deep and resurfaced with two (2) layers of hot mix asphalt that totals 5-inches.  The roadway will be restriped to match the existing pattern when the paving work is completed.
This section of Stagecoach Road was the subject of a County stormwater drainage project last fall and was planned to be resurfaced at that time.  However, during the drainage construction NJ-American Water Company announced plans to extend their water main on Stagecoach Road from Evergreen Drive to behind the Cedar Square Shopping Center on US Route 9 in Seaville.  As a result, the final paving of the section of Stagecoach Road impacted by the drainage project was postponed until the water main installation was completed.
South State, Inc. is tentatively scheduled to begin the resurfacing improvement on Woodbine-Ocean View Road (County Road No. 550) in Dennis Township Aug. 28.  Portions of Woodbine-Ocean View Road from Scott Lane near US Route 9 to Dennisville-Petersburg Road (County Road No. 610) and planned to be milled 2-inches deep and resurfaced with 2-inches of hot mix asphalt.  This resurfacing work is expected to take over a week to complete.  All lanes will be open on weekends and during the overnight hours.  Woodbine-Ocean View Road has suffered significant damage to the road surface over the past couple of winters.  The section of Woodbine-Ocean View Road from Washington Avenue to approximately Modern Gas in the Borough of Woodbine is currently in the design phase and is expected to be to construction sometime in 2016.
The current resurfacing work is part of a $1,597,225.00 construction contract titled 2015 Road Repairs to Various County Roads awarded to South State, Inc. by the Cape May County Board of Chosen Freeholders in June.  This contract is address several of the county roads that experienced considerable amount of damage from this past winter season weather.  Other roadways to be addressed include portions of Avalon Boulevard in Middle Township, Bayshore Road below the Canal in Lower Township, Roosevelt Boulevard in Upper Township and others.  These other roadways will be addressed a little later this year.
