Coronavirus Cases Raised by 4, Deaths by 1

COURT HOUSE – May 16: Cape May County’s total COVID-19 cases increased by four today, with three cases in Lower Township and one in Upper Township. The Woodbine Development Center suffered the loss of a 63-year-old man, bringing the county’s death toll to 40.
Gov. Phil Murphy today reported 115 new state deaths due to the coronavirus, increasing the total to 10,249. The state saw 1,239 new cases. Since the outbreak began in early March, the state has recorded 145,089 cases of COVID-19 infection.
Today was the 10th consecutive day that the state reported less than 2,000 new cases.
Murphy also pointed to the fact that there were 182 new hospitalizations compared with 380 discharges. The total number of COVID-19 related hospitalizations continues to decline. The total number of individuals in New Jersey hospitals due to the coronavirus is 3,564, with 1,061 requiring intensive or critical care. 846 are on ventilators.
