VILLAS – Republican incumbent Tom Conrad was reelected to his Ward One Council seat defeating two independent candidates.
Unofficial Ward One vote tally: Conrad: 790 or 48 percent, Janet Pitts: 570 or 35 percent and, Joseph Will: 266 or 16 percent of the vote.
Conrad told the Herald and 98.7 The Coast Radio, his message was clear: financial responsibility with the township, trying to do the best he could while maintaining services. He said his home district of Fishing Creek “did beautifully for me.” where he won by a margin of 120 votes.
He said he was overwhelmed by the emotion of victory after an exhausting day. Conrad attributed door to door campaigning and his message for his win. Conrad said going door-to-door with the help of volunteers was crucial.
“The next four years should be good for this town,” he said.
Conrad congratulated Pitts for a “well run campaign.”
