NORTH WILDWOOD – According to Mayor Patrick Rosenello, per state law, each municipality must designate a Code Blue Warming Center where homeless persons can find shelter when temperatures drop below 32 degrees. In response, City Council has approved the lobby of the Police Department as the official center. When asked why the lobby was chosen, Rosenello said the decision was made due to the site being staffed 24/7 and having restroom facilities. The Recreation Center will continue to serve as a shelter during storms and other weather events.
