CREST HAVEN – “I have worked for Cape May County over half of my life,” said Elizabeth Bozzelli after five freeholders voted to reappoint her for three years as Clerk of the Board of Chosen Freeholders. Her new term will begin Dec. 1 and expire Nov. 30, 2018. She was initially hired in 1981.
According to the county directory, Bozzelli was first appointed to the position in 2012. As such she is responsible for maintaining records of all official business conducted by the board, including recording votes and actions that take place during freeholder meetings, processing resolutions, ordinances, contracts, bonds, minutes of meetings, and is custodian of the official county seal.
Bozzelli acts as a liaison between the board and public, attests the signature of the director of the board on all contracts, agreements, grants, bids, leases, deeds and other official documents and is responsible for the day-to-day operation of both executive and legislative sections of county government.
Her annual salary is $101,849, per the 2015 Salary Resolution adopted in January.
Prior to her appointment Bozzelli was executive director of county Department of Aging and Disability Services.
Before that she worked in a Stone Harbor insurance agency in Stone Harbor where she was licensed in property and casualty insurance and for Upjohn Healthcare Services in Philadelphia as part of a community healthcare team.
Bozzelli also served as a Councilwoman in Stone Harbor. She received her bachelor’s degree in social work from Pennsylvania State University and her master’s in gerontology from the University of Pennsylvania.
