NORTH WILDWOOD ─ According to City Clerk Scott Jett, city council wishes to amend mercantile license fees. The amended ordinance was presented for first reading at the Dec. 5 council meeting. Jett said those fees had not been reviewed for some years. Jett explained the amendment would help “streamline” and ensure better efficiency. Fees ranged over 50 categories; Jett said some business categories no longer exist, so the number of categories is down to around 25. The amendment will come to a vote Dec. 19.
