City Eyes Bank Street for EV Charging Station

By Vince Conti

CAPE MAY – Cape May City Council endorsed a proposal Dec. 3 to locate an electric vehicle (EV) charging station in the Bank Street parking lot. City Manager Neil Young said the charging station was needed in a resort that attracts large numbers of tourists in the summer. He also indicated that the cost to the city would be minimal.
One Bank Street resident spoke against the proposal, saying that the location frequently floods. Young indicated that the vendor seeking to place the station had seen the location, and understood the potential for occasional flooding. “He is not concerned,” Young said.
