CAPE MAY – According to a release, Cape May has made the following changes to a previous executive order regarding rentals:
This Order modifies, and to the extent appropriate, supersedes the Executive Order issued May 6, 2020, governing transient, seasonal and/or short-term rentals in the City of Cape May.
It is hereby ORDERED and DECREED that Paragraph 2 of the May 6, 2020, Executive Order is modified as follows:
2. Rentals in the City of Cape May for a duration of less than 30 days shall be permitted effective 12:01 a.m., Saturday May 30, 2020.
All other provisions of the May 6, 2020, Executive Order remain the same. In particular, the restrictions on the opening of hotel rooms in Paragraphs 3 and 4 of the May 6 Order remain in place: Hotels and motels in the City of Cape May may operate at a 60% of full capacity effective 12:01 a.m., Monday, June 1, 2020; and may operate at full capacity effective 12:01 a.m., Monday, June 22, 2020.
This order is subject to all pertinent state Executive and Administrative Orders, and all pertinent County resolutions, and is also subject to modification by the City of Cape May in accordance with future developments and conditions.
Persons violating this Order, as well as those who aid or abet violations of this Order, are subject to arrest and prosecution as disorderly persons, pursuant to N.J.S.A. App. A:9-49 and N.J.S.A. App A:9-50.
