COURT HOUSE – Cape Women’s Resource Fund will honor women who have been elected to public office in Cape May County at the Fund’s annual Equality Day Tea Friday, August 26, the 91st anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution in 1920 that gave women the right to vote.
Each year Cape Women’s Resource Fund recognizes a local woman who has made a significant contribution to the community that has improved the lives of county residents, especially women.
“This year, for our 21st annual tea, we thought it would be appropriate to honor women from throughout the county who have been elected to public office,” said Rita Fulginiti, chair of the Fund. “Our honorees will range from council people, mayors, freeholders and others, those currently holding office and those who have served in the past.”
The tea will be held in the Freeholders Meeting Room in the County Administration Building on Moore Road in the Crest Haven Complex August 26 at 4 p.m. It is open to the public and there is no charge to attend. For information call 609-390-5639.
Cape Women’s Resource Fund was established 21 years ago to help provide more educational opportunities for young women in Cape May County and to support other programs that help advance and improve the lives of all women in the county.
