CAPE MAY — On Sept. 7 at approx. 10:20 p.m., Officer Maurice Catarcio and Officer Charles DiMaria, observed a car being operated by Rayvon C. Knight, 20, of West Cape May.
After confirming an arrest warrant (issued by Lower Township Municipal Court) for Knight, officers attempted to serve the warrant on Knight in the vicinity of Fifth Avenue and Broadway.
Officers report that Knight at first attempted to misidentify himself in order to avoid arrest.
When that failed to deter the officers, Knight fled on foot through neighboring properties, causing damage to one resident’s fence. While attempting to scale the fence his clothing became entangled on the fence and surrounding landscaping and he was taken into custody by the officers.
Officers then discovered he was in possession of drug paraphernalia.
Knight was charged with Obstructing, Criminal Mischief and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, bail being set at $2,500.
Knight is scheduled to appear in West Cape May Municipal Court on Thurs., Sept. 16 at 9 a.m.
