Cape May County Makes Preparations for Storm

COURT HOUSE – Cape May County Engineer, Dale Foster announced storm preparations for Cape May County. Based on the latest information provided by the National Weather Service, the Cape May County Public Works Department will be dispatched for snow and ice removal operations around 11 p.m. tonight.
Thirteen trucks have been prepared and are ready for action against this storm. The first crew will start at that time with the initial salting operation of the 210 miles of County roads and 27 bridges. The County has 1,200 tons of salt available to fight this winter storm.
Snow removal operations will begin after about 2 inches of snow has accumulated. If needed, additional crews will be brought in early tomorrow morning.
All Cape May County Government offices will be open for business March 5. Cancelations, closings and delayed openings of Cape May County Government Services will be reported as they are announced.
