It was the first time in almost three decades that the group appeared without 4-H Agent Betty Jean Webersinn, who retired, and whose replacement has not yet been named.
Linda Horner, program assistant accompanied the club members to the meeting and introduced them to the freeholders.
At the presentation’s conclusion, Horner and the members asked Freeholder Ralph Sheets, who oversees the Extension Service department, and a former 4-H member, to step down from the dais so they could give him a “Friend of 4-H Award.”
Sheets, who is not seeking reelection, thanked the group, and noted the honor was something he had not expected.
