COURT HOUSE – The Cape May County Board of Chosen Freeholders is sponsoring the 2012 Earth Day Logo Contest as part of the County’s Earth Day Celebration which will take place at the Cape May County Park on Sat., April 21. The theme for the Logo contest, which is open to all Cape May County students, is “Set the Scene, Go Green.”
Director Gerald Thornton said, “We look forward each year to see the wonderful drawings of our students. There is still time for Cape May County students to send their entries to us. The deadline for submissions is Fri., March 16, 2012.”
Students are asked to create an Earth Day Logo to be silk-screened on a shirt that will be available at the 5-K run and the 1 mile Fun Run kicking off the Earth Day event. There will also be live entertainment, educational displays, activities and guided Eco Walks/Talks featuring the park’s new Born Learning Trail.
The logo is to be hand drawn, black and white artwork incorporating the theme: “Set the Scene, Go Green” submitted on 8 ½ x 11 inch paper. Each submission is to include the name, address, telephone number and name of school on the back. Awards will be announced and presented to the winners at the Freeholders’ meeting on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at 4 p.m. at the County Administration Building.
