Candidates Running in the April 20 School Board Elections; Middle Teachers Set Candidates’ Night

COURT HOUSE — The following candidates, supplied by the Cape May County Clerk’s Office, seek seats on their respective boards of education in the April 20 school board and budget elections. Voting takes place at various times and locations on that date. Check with local district for specifics.
Candidates are listed in the following order: district , number of seats to be voted, term, name:
Avalon: two, full-three years, John Richardson, Kevin Kapp, Kimberly Schiela.
Cape May: three, full-three years, Edward Connolly, Dawn Austin, Deborah Smith.
Cape May Point: one, full-three years, Alice Gibson.
Dennis Township: three, full-three years, Dawn McDaniel, Patricia L. Ziolkowski.
Lower Cape May Regional (Lower Township): three, full-three years, Helen Wallace, Vicki Clark, Gary Douglass.
Lower Township: three, full-three years, Thomas Ottaviano, Charles Utsch, James Rochford.
Middle Township: three, full-three years, Burgess Hamer, Leon Wagner, James Sweitzer Jr., George DeLollis, Calvin Back.

Middle Township Education Association
Hosts a Candidate Night
COURT HOUSE — The Middle Township Education Association will host a “Meet the Candidates Night” on Wednesday, April 14 at 7 p.m. in the cafeteria of Elementary nO. 2. The annual event is hosted by the teachers’ association and monitored by the League of Women Voters. Candidates will answer questions from the public, as well as present statements regarding their opinions on school issues.
When voters in Middle Township head to the polls on April 20, they will have five candidates from which to choose, each vying for one of three 3-year seats on the Middle Township Board of Education. The following candidates have filed the necessary paperwork to run for open positions: Calvin Back, George DeLollis, Burgess Hamer, James Sweitzer, Jr., and Leon Wagner.
The public is invited and encouraged to attend this event. Those in attendance will be able to pose questions, randomly selected by the monitor, to the candidates. Light refreshments will be served. For more information, please contact the Middle Township Education Association at (609)602-0562.
