NORTH WILDWOOD – Uber drivers are changing the landscape and offering an alternative to traditional taxis. However, Jonathan Wilson of Island Cab Company wishes North Wildwood City Council would impose regulations on Uber. “They (Uber drivers) just do whatever they want,” Wilson said Aug. 7. Wilson continued to describe Uber as a “plague.” Mayor Patrick Rosenello replied that all the city can do is enforce traffic regulations. According to Rosenello, he and Police Chief Matthew Gallagher have discussed the matter. “We (city) can’t outlaw Uber,” Rosenello said.
