ERMA — From Friday evening, Sept. 25 through Sunday evening, Sept. 27, Lower Township Patrol Officers were kept busy responding to multiple motor vehicle accidents and domestic violence calls.
On Sept. 26 during a two hour period between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m., police responded to four domestic violence incidents, three of which involved assaults that required mandatory arrests. Officers were so busy responding to domestic violence calls that when a motor vehicle accident, with injuries occurred at the intersection of Fishing Creek and Bayshore Roads, at approximately 9:19 p.m., Middle Township police had to be called for mutual aid to assist with traffic at the motor vehicle accident scene.
Over the weekend, officers responded to eight motor vehicle crashes, completed 25 motor vehicle stops while responding to seven domestic violence incidents, three of which involved assaults. Police also responded to 10 emergency medical calls over the weekend, four trespassing complaints, five theft complaints, seven disorderly conduct calls and completed 13 property checks, along with numerous other nuisance complaints and calls for service.
