WEST WILDWOOD ─ “It will be summer soon enough,” Municipal Clerk Donna Frederick, said after the Borough Commission’s March 3 meeting. As the 2017 summer approaches, West Wildwood looks to the future as an ordinance was introduced, “establishing a municipal kayak/paddle board storage area setting permitting fees and conditions.”
Frederick explained that the commission wishes to make the borough’s beach and bay area accessible and safe. Plans to move the existing playground to the open space are also underway and will provide new equipment for children and families.
Under resolutions, “the advertisement of formal bids by the borough engineer for the replacement of the pedestrian beach access ramp at the Glenwood Avenue bulkhead” was passed. “We are excited about this,” Frederick told the Herald during a phone interview. “This is good news.”
The Ladies’ Auxiliary also continues with its fundraising soup-take-out event; as discussed at the January meeting, all soups will be home-made and available for purchase March 11.
