Bond Would Fund Upgrades

By Camille Sailer

SEA ISLE CITY – At Sea Isle City’s City Council meeting June 26, a bond ordinance, providing for various capital improvements, was introduced. The bond of $4.2 million covers a host of improvements throughout the city. Included are upgrades to the fleet inventory, improvements in the flood notification system, and the installation of decorative street lighting in certain areas.
The decorative street lighting includes lights for the promenade from 35th Street to 45th Street and provides for lights in some of the commercial districts. The upgraded lighting on the promenade also calls for speakers to be installed. Cost of the lighting project is estimated to be $1.6 million. Second reading and hearing for the ordinance will be July 24.
