Bond Ordinances Pass

CAPE MAY – Three bond ordinances were adopted by Cape May City Council June 19. They total $3 million in capital borrowing. The ordinances covered the city, the Water and Sewer Utility and the Beach Utility.
The largest ordinance, $1.6 million for various city improvements, included $750,000 for road projects, $538,000 for equipment including vehicles, $192,000 for improvements to public buildings and grounds, and $155,000 for public safety equipment.
The Water and Sewer utility bond ordinance was for $1 million, with $900,000 going to improvements in water/sewer infrastructure and the remainder to equipment.
The Beach Utility ordinance totaled $393,000. Its improvements include the beachfront public address system.
