CREST HAVEN – The Lower Township Beach Drive Restoration Project received approval for a shared services agreement and funding from freeholders. This agreement authorizes the use of Open Space grant money up to, but not to exceed $993,440 to partially fund a project that created a sidewalk on the west side of Beach Drive in the North Cape May-Townbank section of Lower Township. The township recently authorized additional bond funds to cover the projected $1.97 million cost. The township has already been approved for a $177,000 state Department of Transportation grant to improve existing sidewalks on the east side and to improve the roadway that is being slightly widened as part of the overall plan.
