Bids Received for Ceilometer/Reil Unit Replacement at Woodbine Muncipal Airport

WOODBINE – Two bids were received March 21, 2017, for the Woodbine Municipal Airport Ceilometer (AWOS) & REIL Unit Replacement project.
Bidders were: Gary Kubiak & Son Electric $35,500 and Global Electric Services, Inc. $34,495.00
A grant in the amount of $35,143.03 was awarded by the New Jersey Transportation Division of Multimodal Services’ Airport Improvement Program for replacement of a ceilometer, which is used for weather monitoring for landing and takeoff, and REIL (Runway End Identifier Lights) Unit, which are used in airport navigation.
The State of New Jersey is committed to providing assistance to New Jersey’s General Aviation Airports, such as Woodbine’s Municipal Airport, for improvements to and preservation of the local aviation transportation network.
“We anticipate awarding the project within the next month,” added Mayor Pikolycky. “This is a way to keep pace with general aviation and to maintain our airport’s functionality.”
